Spice Design Consultants completed the design, planning and project management for the first FMOT [ first moment of truth] retail analysis facility in Europe. A new team of specialist IT management were assembled by P&G to set up the state of the art technology in the form of virtual reality equipment and IT processing network systems. The services which were launched with “medium fanfare” and immediate success, will be marketed outside the P&G corporate group to the other retail giants.
Due to the commercial demand Spice were appointed to extend the offices and AV facilities with specialist AV company Impact Marcom.

Spice Design were invited to bid for the total design, planning, project management, and delivery of the control centre and purpose built satellite consoles, including all equipment on a competitive tender basis against specialist consultants from the US.
The progressive R.F.P. bid document produced by Newskies Satellites Project Management, Colem Communications, was succinct in NSS’s requirements, but was open to innovative solutions for the design of an integrated console within a condensed ‘footprint’. It was clearly apparent from the indicative programme, that any bid had to be completely comprehensive, not only in terms of conceptual design of the console control room and ancillary areas, but also supported with accurate method statements, specifications, drawings and visuals.
Spice needed to demonstrate their credibility and background to deliver to a technical environment, commensurate with a highly professional and commercial ethos demanded by the Newskies management team. Read the rest of this entry »

The client’s brief for the design and colour schemes were to be progressive and commensurate with the level of corporate visitors to the building.
Although the brief was unrestricted, Spice were required to consider a number of practicalities which included retaining existing brown granite finishes to flooring and lift lobby surround.
The original reception area was thought by the bank to be gloomy and corporately impersonal, therefore the emphasis was placed on providing interesting and effective lighting embracing the new planning requirements for a strategically located ‘greeter’ reception desk, in front of a new system of turnstyle gates .
As the planning brief was developed, Spice drew the client’s attention to the possibilities of using the available space, not only for a visitor waiting area, but also for informal meetings with low level purpose-made glazed separation screens. Read the rest of this entry »
